If the player wants the city to be operational, it requires residents as well as other essential functions such as electricity, food, water, and a variety of other items. Players will begin constructing the first residential neighborhood and will generate revenue for a short period of time. The next step is to build functional buildings that will provide the necessities for the entire city. Finally, there are buildings that provide services such as jobs, transportation, and a variety of other amenities that a city requires. The player can construct many of the same structures, but they must prioritize the diversity of the structures, such as the functions and services they provide to the city.

The mission system is the core function in City Island 5, as well as a way to guide the player through all of the game's functions and gameplay. The mission system varies depending on the player's level, and there are requirements that players can respond to immediately. The mission system will provide players with numerous appealing rewards, such as EXP, buildings, and game currency. As the player progresses through the game, new features become available, such as expanding the city's area, unlocking new functions, improving city performance, and the appearance of new types of buildings. UNLOCK ADDITIONAL ISLANDS
Each game in the City Island series will include multiple islands, and the fifth game will be no exception. Each island has its own distinct characteristics, including climate, environment, weather, and topography. Players will construct appropriate buildings based on the current island type, and each island will automatically classify separate buildings. Using a special vehicle, the player can freely move between each island and construct new structures while on vacation. Of course, each island will provide its own mainstream service, which players can take advantage of to help the islands thrive.
